Jazz Finland Live

Neglected is a dance concert that tackles the problem of neglect in the lives of young adults, seeing XposureDuo, composed of dancer Vilma-Emilia Kuosa and vibraphonist Arttu Takalo, ask what the consequences are when the people closest to you are not there for you. This is the duo's debut piece, and it is based on true stories and experiences acquired at workshops at Youth Crisis Centre, Helsinki Missio. The goal is to raise awareness of the deep scars that neglect leaves in the lives of young people.

Pyöreät 80 vuotta täyttänyt saksofonisti-huilisti Juhani Aaltonen on kiistatta yksi suomalaisen jazzhistorian tärkeimpiä muusikoita. Muun muassa Säveltaiteen Valtionpalkinnolla huomioitu taiteilija on erikoistunut vapaapulsatiiviseen jazzilmaisuun. Aaltosen julistava ja koskettava soitto on liikuttanut jazzyleisöä jo yli puoli vuosisataa ja mestari jatkaa edelleen vahvaa kulkuaan. Juhani Aaltosen trio päättää Jazz Finland LIVE 2016 -konserttisarjan Merikeskus Vellamossa. 

Saxophonist-flutist Juhani Aaltonen may have reached the respectable age of 80 but the old master is still going as strong as ever. His powerful and touching expression has won over audiences for half a century, and he was awarded with the prestigious Finnish State Prize For Music in 2009. 

By his side Aaltonen has two legendary players, the soulful bassist Uffe Krokfors and drum-master Reiska Laine.
