Jazz Finland Live

Musical multi-talent, guitarist Marzi Nyman and his band take over the cornerstones of guitarist legend Jimi Hendrix's production, which revolutionized popular music and elevated Hendrix to the ranks of the best electric guitarists of all time.

Marzi Nyman has made an impact as a guitarist in numerous leading jazz bands. Nyman has also worked in theaters, television and composed works for orchestras. In this millennium alone, the multi-talented artist called "the chameleon of music" has managed to play on dozens of records.

The concert starts with a performance by Espoo Music Institute´s Pop and Jazz Department Ebeli's band Tisdag.

Percussion artist Mika Kallio's fourth own album Gong Odyssey was released in June 2022. Fascinating gongs play a leading role on the album. The compositions sway in accordance with the nature of the gongs in the middle ground between ambient and improvised music.

Kallio boldly throws himself into uncharted territories, conjuring a sound space where time ceases to exist. For the tour, the bandleader has assembled a versatile and creative group around him, who not only master the main instruments but also master the skill of playing the gongs.
