Swedish virtuoso duo Mats/Morgan, praised by both Frank Zappa and Steve Vai, will make their first appearance in Pori in April.

During their last tour, Zappa was impressed by drummer Morgan Ågren and pianist Mats Öberg in Stockholm and invited them to collaborate in America. Both accomplished musicians have received several awards: Öberg has been awarded the Monica Zetterlund and Jan Johansson scholarships, while Ågren was voted the world's best fusion drummer in Modern Drummer magazine's poll in 2010.

The concert series Jazz och prog på svenska, organized by the Validi Karkia club, brings Swedish progressive rock and jazz expertise to the city. The series is supported by the Svenska Kulturfonden i Björneborg. The concert will begin with Tampere's jazz trio Hot Heros featuring guitar legend Jukka Orma.
