The cornerstone of the Finnish jazz Manuel Dunkel brings his quartet to the wonderful Raatihuone hall in Linnajazz's new top concert early Saturday evening.
The saxophonist who received the Yrjö award in 2011 has absorbed jazz traditions exceptionally well through numerous different projects and orchestras. However, Dunkel is perhaps at his strongest in quartet form in modern jazz, bowing in the direction of the legend John Coltrane.

Linnajazz's free outdoor concert begins with a performance aimed at children and families, where Jazzkamelit performs familiar children's songs in a jazzy style. In addition Jazzkamelit's own music will be heard. The second performer, the six-person Jykä Ahola & Old Virgins plays hundred-year-old jazz. The square concert culminates in a jam session led by the music collective Kassun jamit.
