This trio, led by pianist Aki Rissanen and complemented by drummer Teppo Mäkynen and bassist Antti Lötjönen, captures the audience with irresistible intensity. This trio follows its very own path and doesn’t shy away from taking risks. Their modern expression shakes hands with the jazz tradition.

The trio arrives at Koko Jazz Club as part of Jazz Finland's co-production tour with the release of the Art In Motion album. The album was released in late 2019 and now, after a two-year wait, the band is finally able to present their music all over Finland. As a specialty of the night, Aki Rissanen will open the concert with his first half solo performance, based on his solo album Divided Horizon, released last year.

Piano, a moment, thoughts, feelings, reaction, breathing. When I start improvisation, I see only emptiness. Little by little, tiny drops start gather up, forming small groups, which in turn, form large musical paintings. I can feel how suspense fills my whole body and mind, and I start to express all this via the piano, a moment by moment. There are no boundaries, no rules, no competition. What is left is just music.
