Founded in Trondheim, Ville Lähteenmäki Trio consists of leading young jazz musicians. Ville Lähteenmäki plays his main instrument bass clarinet, Nicolas Leirtrø bass and Trym Saugstad Karlsen drums. The band's music has been influenced by e.g. the pioneers of African American jazz.
