Hot Heros ja Iro Haarla

Hot Heros and Iro Haarla
Sami Sippola: tenor saxophone
Iro Haarla: piano
Ville Rauhala: double bass
Janne Tuomi: drums and percussion
Hot Heros and Iro Haarla will perform music from their joint album Vodjanoi during the concert. The original idea of the compositions remained lucid and beautiful, as intended, and although the making of music is basically an expression of freedom for the trio, this time the longing for freedom sounds stronger than before. The trio’s joint trips to Lapland and the Sámi areas served as an experience that strengthened composing work and left a lasting longing to the North. So we have an interesting journey into the moods and mysteries of northern nature.

One of Norway's most innovative and active genre-free bands these days, combining the sound of Norwegian Folk Music, jazz and electronica in a very unique way. They have received several prizes and nominations for their four releases on the acclaimed label Hubro, including the Norwegian Grammy for their album "Salika, Molika" (2019).
