Salminen - Tikkanen -  Sarjasto is an ensemble assembled for Art First Records “Community Jazz” recordings, the music of which is pure free jazz.

The music of the expressive trio is energetic free improvisation with a virtuoso grip. The interaction creates a hypnotic atmosphere and takes the listener to places that rise from the source of the subconscious. The concert of this trio takes you on a journey between the planets.

Jazzliiton kiertueella/On Jazz Finland Tour: Selma Juudit Alessandra,Raahesali, raahe11.11. At 19:00

Jazz Finland's spring season was supposed to start with Selma Juudit Alessandra's tour on February 9–18, but due to the pandemic, the tour was postponed until two periods in November–December. The indie-jazz foursome, led by singer-songwriter Selma Savolainen, plays live in nine cities on Nov 8–11 and Nov 29–Dec 3.

Vocalist-composer Selma Savolainen’s quartet Selma Juudit Alessandra was founded in 2015 to animate Savolainen’s compositions and lyrics. The Helsinki-based band will charm seven cities with their irresistable mix of 70’s psychedelia, ethereal sounds and artsy jazz pop.

Savolainen is an aspiring vocalist and composer hailing from Helsinki, Finland. Even though her musical roots lay in jazz, diverse influences from other genres can be heard in her singing and writing. Savolainen is an alumni of the Betty Carter's Jazz Ahead program and the Banff International Workshop for Jazz and Creative Music. She has studied at the Sibelius Academy and the Conservatory of Paris.

Selma Juudit Alessandra released their debut album Rubicon Songs in December 2019. It gained attention also internationally, and served as a powerful start for the young group’s future career.

What is the case here? Some people say it's only the 90's modern post-bop jazz spiced with a little hint of expressionism, some people just say it's the case of Tomi Kämäräinen. The real thing in this case though is the unique personality of this Finnish drummer, who is presenting his new quartet with his own perspective on music by combining lightness and grace of modern jazz timbre with experiencing Copenhagen in vast and various pictures. Case Kämäräinen's second album Joyride was released in April 2021. The album continues the fascinating melting pot of the band's different playing styles. Joyride is a collection of great coincidences from cover art to the stories behind the songs.
