Jazz Finland Live

2017 marks not only the 100th anniversary of Finnish independence but also that of the legendary Thelonious Monk. On 29 October, when exactly 60 years have passed from Monk and Coltrane's celebrated concert at the Carnegie Hall, some of Finland's jazz heavy weights take to the stage of Koko in the form of Plonk Music Quartet. To spice things up, they will be joined by string quartet 4-Sphere. The setlist is, naturally, composed of the pieces heard 60 years ago at Carnegie Hall. 

The concert also sees the resurrection of the prize Suomen Jazzlegenda (Finnish Jazz Legend) to honour long-standing Finnish jazz musicians that continue to perform actively. Two new Jazz Legends will be named in this concert.
