A piece for a jazz trio and a video artist
The music composed by pianist Aki Rissanen was originally composed for an animated film. Here, the trio and the video artist interpret it in a new way. The main focus in the quartet’s piece is the communication, dynamics and spontaneous solutions between visualisation and sound.

DIG. Festival October 29–31, 2013
Black Box, Helsinki Music Centre
The annual jazz festival, DIG., of the Sibelius Academy jazz programme takes over the Helsinki Music Centre from October 29th to 31st. The jazz festival was first arranged in 2002. The event features both international and Finnish artists on the Centre’s stages and the most famous solo artist this year is American soul singer and keyboardist Frank McComb (born 1970). McComb, who has been compared with Donny Hathaway and Stevie Wonder, has worked during his career with, among others, Prince and Chaka Khan.
