Ville Ja Valle is a new colourful children’s music production that is based on a classic Finnish children’s album Muusa Ja Ruusa (1972) by composer and saxophonist Eero Koivistoinen. Ville Ja Valle features new versions of songs based on beloved children’s lyricist Kirsi Kunnas‘ poems and short rhymes such as Jussin Talo, Mistä on pienet pojat tehty and Muusa ja Ruusa. The concert also features all new children’s songs from such Finnish lyricists as Timo Kiiskinen, Mikko Perkoila and Jukka Itkonen. All of the music is composed by Eero Koivistoinen.

Ville Ja Valle is performed by UMO’s 17-piece big band with soloist Johanna Försti. Composer Eero Koivistoinen will conduct.

Ville Ja Valle will be released as a CD in the fall. In addition to Johanna Försti and UMO, the CD features Vesa-Matti Loiri and rapper Gracias as soloists.

keikka

MIR is an acronym for Monniot, Ithursarry and Roy ; a word which in Russian language means “World” as well as “Peace”. In communion with these trio partners, the French saxophonist Christophe Monniot sounds more lyrical than ever and he continues to develop the potential of his lush artistry. The influences on Station MIR range from “ball musette” to Ligeti, via Duke Ellington. Nothing is excluded, certainly not popular music. The trio was created at the Grenoble Jazz Festival in April 2010 and published its first album in December 2012 on Le Triton –record label.
