The Aurinkomäki concert at the Kerava Jazz Festival consists of a lineup of three bands:
Martin Sikala, a student band from Kerava that plays jazz fusion and pop rock, will perform at 1:00 PM.
Starting at 2:45 PM, Maja Mannila, a jazz/soul singer, pianist, and composer aiming for an international career, will take the stage. The concert will feature Mannila's own English-language songs, where soul, R&B, jazz, and gospel meet. Raised in a family of musicians, she has a confident grasp of music-making, but she emphasizes freedom and fun in creating and playing music. This is evident in the captivating cheerfulness of the Maja Mannila Trio's ensemble sound, composed of young top talents. The band was chosen to represent Finland at the 2023 Nordic Jazz Comets event.
The festival concludes at 4:30 PM with Masa Orpana Honk, a band composed of musicians from Tampere. The band brings the joy of roots music and diverse rhythms into a modern jazz setting. Their strength lies in the three-saxophone section formed by Masa Orpana, Tuomas Heinonen, and Aino Heikkonen, backed by a rhythm section pulsating with the spirit of New Orleans.
