Masa Orpana Honk brings along a great vibe - the joy of rhythm and blues! The band's strength lies in Masa Orpana's section of three juicy saxophones, accompanied by a swinging rhythm group in the spirit of New Orleans. The band's lively music combines blues, funk, soul, gospel, jazz, and other Afro-American roots music. Charismatic Johnny Gideon takes care of the vocals.

Founded in 2012, Honk started as a quartet. The newer lineup, reinforced with two saxophonists, was born from the idea of ​​playing Orpana's arrangements for multiple wind players. The group has performed at events such as Tampere Jazz Happening, Lahti Jazztori, and G Livelab.

In 2024, Orpana celebrates an artist anniversary: 30 years as a professional musician and 20 years as an artist recording his own music. A couple of years ago, Masa Orpana was awarded the Blues Lovers ry's Jemma Prize. Previous recipients include Marjo Leinonen, Pepe Ahlqvist, and Jo' Buddy.
