Singer Aili Ikonen and pianist Antti Kujanpää have been performing as a duo for over twenty years. Their collaboration began in 2002 with the formation of the band Kvalda. In addition to Kvalda, Aili Ikonen has performed at Kerava Jazz with the band Hereä. Antti Kujanpää has appeared at the festival with groups such as Auteur Jazz, as a duo with Joakim Berghäll, and with the band GI/AN/T, alongside drummer Tuomas Timonen and Norwegian singer Gine Gaustad Anderssen.
Over the years, Aili Ikonen has developed into an internationally acclaimed singer, composer, and lyricist. Her extensive career includes four solo albums in Finnish, big band productions, interpretations of Ella Fitzgerald, and jazz schlager music. Ikonen performs broadly with top contemporary artists. She has been heard as a soloist with numerous orchestras, including the Radio Symphony Orchestra, UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra, Turku Philharmonic Orchestra, and Tampere Philharmonic. Aili Ikonen is also known as a member of the vocal ensemble Rajaton.
