The award-winning saxophonist-composer Maria Faust and the flexible 18-member Sointi Jazz Orchestra join forces in a unique concert. During the evening in addition to oven-fresh arrangements of Maria Faust's compositions, the audience will also hear completely new music written by Faust for Sointi Jazz Orchestra.

Japanese Yoko Miura regularly visits Europe to perform, and this time she will stop by Finland as well. Her musician friends are e.g. Gianni Mimmo, Lawrence Cassery, Mia Zabelka (with whom Yoko played at the jaZZanti concert in 2019), Charlie Collins, Derek Saw and previously Teppo Hauta-aho.
Yoko state: “I am trying to make a kind of different universes interweaving and exchanging with different process, values and ways, with people, not only the musicians but also painters and dancers”.
Yoko plays a solo part like our bassist Antti Lötjönen and finally they play duo improvisations.

Linda Fredriksson will perform live at Tanssisali Lutakko hot on the heels of the incredible debut solo album Juniper, released via We Jazz Records. Fredriksson, best known from the ranks of Mopo and Superposition, has been working on the songs heard on the album for several years, composing them mostly on guitar, keys and by singing. At heart, Juniper is a "singer-songwriter album", performed by an instrumental jazz band, featuring Tuomo Prättälä on keys and synths, Mikael Saastamoinen on bass and Olavi Louhivuori on drums.

New New Trio

New York has been a meeting place for jazz musicians for a long time. Since the 50s, many jazz musicians have moved to New York, from all over the United States, because of the rich musical culture.
This collaboration started with a similar but more recent story. Tuomo Uusitalo and Tomi Kämäräinen met by chance in New York in front of the Smalls jazz club in the fall of 2018, as a result of which they started a joint production called New New Trio. They played their first gig together a few weeks later at New York's Spectrum.
Pianist Uusitalo has previously been heard in the ranks of UMO Jazz Orchestra, Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Post Modern Jukebox and Olavi Louhivuori. He has recorded his own music in 2016 and 2019 on the Freshsound record label. Kämäräinen released new music with his band Case Kämäräinen in early 2021 on the second album Joyride (Eclipse Music).
The cooperation was continued in the form of the Finnish tour in the fall of 2019 and concerts at the Laitila Jazz Kukko festival in the summer of 2020. At that time, Kaisa Mäensivu was the band's bass player and Kari Antila, a guitarist living in Belgium, was a guest. The band's music could be described as modern jazz, which freely adapts to jazz traditions.
