The trademarks of the quintet led by saxophonist Max Zenger are futuristic, rich soundscapes and compositions inspired by the uniqueness of nature. The band will play seven concerts in Finland from 11 to 28 October 2022.
Max Zenger's saxophone and Kasperi Sarikoski's trombone play beautifully together and cross each other in melodies. New Yorker Kaisa Mäensivu's stout bass and Anssi Tirkkonen's energy on drums clasp hands in the rhythm section. Keyboardist Mikael Myrskog brings his own flavor to this rhythmic palette.
Globus won the European broadcasting corporations' jazz band competition in France in the summer of 2018. At that time, the band had just released their debut album, and the second album Flores was just released in time for the Jazz Federation tour. On the tour, the quintet will perform on the concert stages from Oulu to Espoo and from Raahe to Joensuu for a total of eight gigs from11 to 28 October 2022.
