Global Messenger Service (GMS)

GMS is a new phenomenon in Finnish music life: an encounter of an Afro quartet and a string quartet. This unusual band plays new renditions of Finnish folk musician Lassi Ressa - renditions that combine musical traditions from Africa, Turkey, India, U.S.A., Cuba and Germany. A truly original and cross-artistic project, GMS participates in cultural debates for a more international Finland by organising workshops for children, youngsters, social workers and members of different religious groups.
