Spring concert by the Finnish Saxophone Society
The international guest star is Armenian classical music saxophonist, Koryun Asatryan while the Adele Sauros Quartet is responsible for this year's jazz programme. They play jazz in a highly individual style, with a relaxed approach based on combining a variety of moods. Other Finnish top saxophonists will also perform.
Adele Sauros Quartet was founded in the spring of 2012. All the music performed by the group is composed by the band leader Adele Sauros. Quartet’s fresh, new jazz is inspired by the fields of Lapland, African savannah, Ruoholahti metro station and bread burnt in a toaster. The group consists of four young musicians: Adele Sauros on tenor saxophone, Vili Itäpelto on piano, Kaisa Mäensivu on acoustic bass and Ville Luukkonen on drums.
