This new quartett came to life in Helsinki's jazzscene in spring 2023, where the four musicians joined to share their music – some own compositions as well as jazzstandards.
Kristiina Valdman is a singer, composer and a lyricist from Estonia. Melodic playfulness and emotional storytelling delivered with a deep earthy tone is what make her vocal interpretations magical. Jonathan Bäckström is a bassist, composer, improviser and band leader from Kronoby, Finland based in Helsinki, Finland. He works within the broader spectrum of free improvisation, free jazz, contemporary music and jazz. He graduated from Novia UAS in 2019. Benjamin Nylund is a drummer and composer from Kronoby, Finland, and now based in Helsinki, Finland. He plays many different varieties of music, including jazz, funk, and soul, and plays them all with such groove and finesse unlike many others.
