Jazz Finland Live

Joonas Tuuri Quartet is a band led by bassist Joonas Tuuri, founded in 2017. The group plays modern jazz and Tuuri is the composer of their music, which is characterized by beautiful and catchy melodies, strong moods, and polished ensemble playing and improvisation. The sensitive communication between the musicians leads to unique and unpredictable music.

Their debut album, "Dimensions," was released in the spring of 2022 through Eclipse Music. The band performed at various venues in Finland, such as the FlameJazz event in Turku's Kirkkopuisto, the Eclipse Jazz Club in Tampere, and the jAZZanti concert in Helsinki, to celebrate the album release. The album has received a lot of attention and has garnered many listens on international playlists on Spotify and YouTube. Their song "November" from the debut album was immediately added to Spotify's Coffee Table Jazz playlist and has already amassed over a million plays.

Joonas Tuuri plays both double bass and electric bass, Ilmari Rönkä plays alto saxophone and flute, Artturi Rönkä plays piano, and Anssi Tirkkonen plays drums.
