The Juho Valjakka Trio performs harmonically rich compositions and playful joint playing. On their latest album "Liminal Spaces", which was nominated for the Jazz Emma award, Valjakka and his trio presents their own personal, nuanced musical world.

Pianist Juho Valjakka founded his first piano trio in 2010, and since then has focused on the trio format in his own artistic work. He has always been inspired by the sensitivity and versatility of trio ensembles and the search for new tones within traditional instrumentation. The current line-up, which has been operating since 2018 together with bassist Oskari Siirtola and drummer Anssi Tirkkonen, represents Valjaka's current vision of the piano trio, drawing from its history and at the same time reaching towards the future.
