Rajaton Jazz Festival was born in 2007 as a regular jazz concert, which got so successful that it was decided to organize it the following year. The concert series became a tradition and grew into an entire festival. The festival is a versatile event with unlimited musical style and its main idea has been to invite the best international jazz musicians.

One important principle of the festival is the presentation of creative art and the attempt to encourage musicians to perform their own style. During the 15 years of the event, bands and musicians from Germany, Estonia, Russia, Norway and other countries have performed at the festival. This year, the focus is on Finnish bands with international performers and a unique program.

The festival's main performer this year is the virtuoso project Zenev, which will perform in the atmospheric bar Vintti on Wednesday, October 26. The Zenev project will present compositions from the new album Live at the Melodiya Studio. The new program consists of author's compositions by Artem Zenev and folk tunes in jazz arrangements.

Project leader Artem Zenev is a composer, musician, virtuoso guitarist and talented songwriter. In his work, Artem refers to different genres – from folk songs to rock, indie electronics and jazz. In 2021 he recorded the soundtrack for the indie film Niilo (art house, RP Films Media, Finland). In 2022, together with the Finnish guitarist Kimmo Laaksonen, he recorded and released an album of early 20th century Finnish music, Kangastusta. He actively cooperates with the band NOM from St. Petersburg as a studio guitarist.

Emilia Qvist trio from Sipoo will also perform on Wednesday, 26.10. Emilia is a hard-working songwriter, singer and pianist whose music combines modern pop with elements of soul and blues. The lyrics of songs are touching and honest. Emilia Qvist released her debut single Innan det är för sent together with Helsinki records.

As a true Nordic artist, Emilia Qvist was born in Finland, lived in Norway and also performed in Sweden and Denmark. She primarily performs solo, accompanying herself on piano, but also performs gigs in a trio ensemble with saxophone, drums and piano. Emilia Qvist feels the power of music and walks her own path.
