The decadent, light-hearted organ trio Buba Wii Aa will take you to the sunny beach boulevards and smoky clubs of 1960s San Francisco. Their pieces are like musical short films that portray moments from random city dwellers’ lives. Masters of retro, they released their debut EP, Taco Taco Taco!, on cassette in September 2015 on the new label of the famous Helsinki-based jazz collective We Jazz, and both the first and the second issue sold out quickly. The long-awaited first album is due out in autumn 2017.

A union of four jazz expats, today based in Finland, Foreign Friends tackle some of the best-loved Finnish national musical treasures with a twist and a big heart. A trio composed of Icelandic guitarist Sigurdur Rögnvaldsson, German-born pianist Sid Hille and Ethiopian percussionist Abdissa Assefa will be complemented by Swedish-Turkish Anni Elif Egecioglu and her ethereal voice. Their loving jazz reinterpretations range from Finnish folk songs and hymns to rock numbers.
