Jazz Finland Live

The second edition of this spring's Porvoo Jazz Club features the irrepressible trio PLOP whose music gets a visual interpretation when comics artist Emmi Valve joins them on the stage. 

PLOP is composed of three establish Finnish jazzers: the Yrjö-nominee sax player Mikko Innanen, bassist Ville Herrala and drummer Joonas Riippa. All three members compose for the group, but due to the spontanous nature of their shows they may play everyone's pieces or no one's pieces. Freedom is not empty rhetorics for PLOP but part and parcel of their existence. 

Visuals to PLOP's music will be provided by comics artist Emmi Valve. Recurring themes in the Porvoo-based artist's work are death, love, loneliness and the borderline between normality and abnormality.

In addition to live jazz, best jazz vinyl will be spun by Eero Löyttyjärvi of Bassoradio's Lauantaijatsit.
