Sibis Jazz Ensembles welcome dazzling sax player Will Vinson.

Born in London but based in New York for many years, Vinson is currently experiencing a major uplift in his career. His sixth solo album was released in spring 2016, and he currently plays for instance in the quartet of legendary pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba. This programme features Vinson’s compositions arranged for two student ensembles.

Fans of the Blue Note piano will be in for a treat in late March! Pianist Riitta Paakki - an expert on Blue Note recordings - will delve into the catalogue of the legendary record label with a long-term friend an colleague, drummer Mikko Hassinen. On the bass, the magical Timo Hirvonen. Prepare yourself for picks from some of the most defining Blue Note signees, including the likes of Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter.

Pianist, composer and piano teacher László Süle (b. 1955) gives a jazz concert with colleagues bassist Hannu Rantanen and percussionist Hannu Risku at the Hungarian Centre for Arts and Sciences on 23 March. The concert is a part of the long-running concert series hosted by Süle and sees a number of premieres this time.
