VIAPORI JAZZ 2016: DALINDÈO feat. ANTTI SARPILA
25th of August 7PM Tenalji von Fersen, Suomenlinna
25€ / K18
Clarinet great Antti Sarpila amidst some Balkan-styled sounds? That all seems quite exotic, just as we like it! Dalindèo is the musical vehicle of composer/guitarist Valtteri Pöyhönen, who has achieved widespread acclaim in Finland as the head of Ricky-Tick Big Band. In Dalindèo, several different kinds of musical ingredients come together in order to produce music which truly swings to its own beat. Expect cuts from their latest LP, “Slavic Souls”, spiced up with Sarpila’s masterful clarinet high jinx.
Valtteri Pöyhönen – guitar and compositions
Pope Puolitaival – saxophone
Jose Mäenpää – trumpett
Pekka Lehti – bass
Thomas Rönnholm – drums
Rasmus Pailos – percussions
feat. Antti Sarpila – clarinet and saxophone
