keikka

German and European jazz legend Gunter Hampel arriving at We Jazz is a great and important occasion. The group which focuses heavily on collective creation features Brazilian dancer Danilo Cardoso and the concert is bound to be a very comprehensive experience. This lineup also performs under the name Gunter Hampel Music + Dance Improvisation Company. The visit is carried out in cooperation with Goethe-Institut Finnland.

Pianist Aki Rissanen takes a turn into the world of electronic avantgarde music on his new concept album Sturm. The acoustic piano is ever present in the sound and mood of the album which is a fascinating combination of different worlds. The live concept will be carried out with visualisations that not only envelop the venue but extend outside as well.

The Genelec House loft jazz-evening will be host to the first ever We Jazz jam session. This is going to be interesting.

The We Jazz DJ collective consists of Eero Löyttyjärvi and Matti Nives with occasional visits by friends. Their record bag is filled with jazz sounds from the beginning of the genre to this day with a special focus on the raw sound of 60’s club jazz. Löyttyjärvi can be hard on Saturdays between 2 and 4 PM on Bassoradio’s programme Lauantaijazzit. Nives is one of the hosts of Jazz kiinnostaa, which can be heard every Sunday at noon on Radio Helsinki.
