Koko Jazz Club is proud of the programme of this July, especially of the fact that it is kicked off by the duo show of the long-term partners in music; Gil Goldstein and Iiro Rantala.
Accordionist Gil Goldstein is known especially for his collaboration with the master composer/arranger Gil Evans. In recent years he has worked with the likes of Esperanza Spalding, Pat Metheny, Al Jarreau, David Sanborn and Quincy Jones. This year has seen him tour with Bobby McFerrin.
Iiro Rantala has performed oftener on the continent than in his native country in recent years. All the more delighted are we to have him back at Koko -- especially as we have had the privilege to have his personal Steinway for concert use all season.
