Jazz Finland Live

Composer, percussionist and band leader Edward Vesala (1945–1999) always went his own way in Finnish jazz. Workshops organised by Vesala in the 1980s developed into Sound & Fury, one of his most important bands.

Today, Sound & Fury is a profound, raw, sensitive and imaginative 9-man group that dives deep into the Finnish soul and nature. The band plays music composed by Edward Vesala, arranged by Iro Haarla, to which it adds its own textures.

Panu Savolainen Toivo comprises three top-notch Finnish jazzers: Panu Savolainen (vibes), Teemu Viinikainen (guitar) and Jori Huhtala (bass). As indicated by their name, the group pays homage to the beloved Finnish composer Toivo Kärki, playing Kärki's familiar songs in intimate, acoustic arrangements for a jazz trio. The concert forms a part of the group's album-launching tour and celebrates the 100th anniversary of Kärki's birth.

Rhythm Future Quartet in Finland for the first time!

Rhythm Future Quartet, formed by Olli Soikkeli and Jason Anick, spent the last year by touring the U.S. extensively and their fresh gipsy swing can be enjoyed now on the Finnish soil. On the Finnish tour, the leading pair is joined by Teemu Åkerblom on the double bass and Tomi Kettunen on the guitar.
