Django Collective Helsinki has performed actively in a variety of spheres; at jazz festivals, clubs and private parties, and is known for hosting phenomenal jam sessions in Helsinki. The group’s name is, indeed, a signpost: their repertoire consists of old, rootsy and upbeat gypsy swing in the style of Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli from the 1930s to 50s. More recently they have started perfoming some original material, too. The group has collaborated with, among others, Antti Sarpila, Paulus Schäfer, Olli Soikkeli, Sami Saari, Raoul Björkenheim, Pentti Lahti and Riku Niemi.
Laura Airola - violin
Aki Hauru - guitar
Kimmo Iltanen - guitar
