Quartet Ajaton ('Timeless') is named after their relentless exploration through time. The band creates clever versions of musical elements from various eras. Their sophomore album, titled Early Music in the Latest Way (Alba Records 2020) includes renaissance and baroque compositions.
The quartet's instrumentation has intrigued people since their first performances, some eight years ago, and for a reason: it's one of its kind in the world! Together they have inspired audiences also in the UK, in Sweden, in Estonia and in Russia.
The group's musical backgrounds are a mix of everything from jazz to baroque, from Argentinian tango to contemporary music, improv, and 'experiments of all sorts'.
