The award-winning saxophonist and composer Manuel Dunkel and his quartet will be on tour in late 2022. Dunkel, one of the brightest stars in Finnish jazz, released his latest album Northern Journey in November 2021. The album continues in the familiar intense and expressive style for which the saxophone master is well known both in Finland and abroad.

In Manuel Dunkel Quartet consists pianist Alexi Tuomarila, bassist Antti Lötjönen and drummer Jaska Lukkarinen, who will be replaced by Joonas Riippa in Oulu. The virtuoso line-up is especially known for its melodic expression and distinctive sound. At the heart of the band is Dunkel’s powerful saxophone sound, which naturally bends from an intense postbop style to the most sensitive ballad moods.
