The talented soul singer and songwriter Ina Forsman returns to G Livelab Helsinki hot on heels of her new single release "Promises". Forsman is currently working on her fourth studio album, set to be released early 2022. Her previous visit at the club was sold out in advance and the performance received a brilliant review by Finland's largest daily paper, Helsingin Sanomat. This time around, Forsman takes the stage performing as a duo.

Johanna Grüssner, born and raised on Åland, is a musical cosmpolitan. The singer who has created a succesful career in the United States, moves freely between different genres and forms of music but her roots are in the world of jazz. Her style is uncomplicated but determined – underneath a cool surface there is fire and passion.

Saturday night the 7th of August, Johanna will perform with her trio featuring Stockholm born pianist Mathias Algottson and trumpet player Karl Olandersson. During the evening, some of the most beloved classical tunes will be heard as intimate trio interpretations. In a small ensemble like this one, each musician gets equal freedom to improvise and shine. The trio rose to great popularity in the spring of 2020 at the Nordic Council’s streaming concert, which was filmed directly from Johanna’s living room.

Skilled saxophonist Jukka Perko and company offer their listeners energetic, traditional American jazz. The ensemble includes Tomi Kettunen on guitar, who has created a succesful career in the US, and Steinway Jazz Talent winner Toomas Keski-Säntti on piano. Swing is guaranteed with bassist Joonas Tuuri and drummer Aleksi Heinola.
The band has created their own versions of renowned classics, which takes their listeners on a journey to the American 1930’s.

Producer-drummer Teppo Mäkynen's 3TM band performs music that is detached from time and space, where electronic tones mix with the sound of an acoustic jazz trio in a fresh and natural way.

Kalle Kalima & Knut Reiersrud is an international band that captures with its hypnotic sound. Guitarist Kalle Kalima has a musical background in rock and jazz, while guitarist Knut Reiersrud works in blues and world music. Drummer Moritz Baumgärtner and bassist Phil Donkin are creative players with world-class experience. The different backgrounds of the players create an interesting whole, and the program on Elojazz includes both indigenous American music and classic rock songs.

PEPE WILLBERG & JUKKA SCHOOL STATEMENT at 21:00
The Saturday night of Elojazz at the Hupisaari Theater culminates in a real nostalgia experience when Pepe Willberg is seen on stage together with the top band Statement, assembled by trumpet player Jukka Eskola. In the concert, we hear a compilation of two records that have risen to the status of cult classics: "Niin vähän on aikaa" and "En soisi sen päättyvän". The songs composed for the texts of Finnish poets on the albums released in the early 1970s are the handwriting of the late Henrik Otto Donner in 2013. The collaboration between Donner and Willberg was fruitful, Pepe Willberg became Donner's credit singer and a great favorite of Finns.

Elojazz is an Oulu based jazz and rhythm music festival. In 2021, Elojazz will be held from 5 to 7 August. Trumpeter Jukka Eskola is the artistic director of Elojazz and the festival is produced by Jazz-20 ry. The Elojazz Festival, which is being held for the 32nd time this year, is part of the Oulu August Festival

Kimmo Pohjonen is an accordion artist and composer known as a reformer of his art form. Pohjonen has performed at more than 600 international festivals and major stages around the world. The music of Kimmo Pohjonen Skin, founded around the Sensitive Skin album in 2015, makes trips to the world of accordion, live electronics, guitar and percussion.
