In one of UMO's most intriguing autumn season concerts the big band will plunge into the world of classic Hollywood film scores. Interpreting the never-fading evergreens will be soloist Maria Ylipää, known from various musicals and films, while the host will be film expert Antti Alanen.
The setlist will consist film music pieces from the 1950s to today, including well-known pieces and themes from such movies as A Streetcar Named Desire, Anatomy of a Murder, Touch of Evil, Pink Panther, Rosemary's Nightmare and Black Orpheus. Visuals are by Vesa Vehviläinen.

Finnish pianist Iiro Rantala invites the Norwegian saxophonist Marius Neset for a duo outing at Livelab. Neset has released several critically acclaimed albums on the German label ACT Music, becoming one of the top Nordic jazz stars in the process.
