jaZZanti-konsertti: Berghäll Kuusikko – Reflections of Sibelius,Ravintola Laulumiehet, helsinki8.12. At 19:00

Berghäll Kuusikko

keikka

Joakim Berghäll presents his new sextet in this edition of the jaZZanti concert series. Berghäll's collective is an encounter between three Yrjö-awarded veterans -- Kari Ikonen, Markku Ounaskari and Junnu Aaltonen -- and two established younger-generation jazzers -- Pauli Lyytinen and Jori Huhtala -- in addition to Berghäll himself.

As unique as the group is their raison d'être: to perform Jean Sibelius's choral music in Berghäll's new jazz arrangements. With the three expressive and individual sax men fronting the sextet, we are in for rare sonic landscapes from the early 20th century.

The evening is organised by Helsinki Jazz ry to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Jean Sibelius.
