Eero Koivistoinen, one of the best-known Finnish jazz musicians of all time, received the first ever Yrjö Jazz Prize in 1967. Koivistoinen continues to be a major presence in the Finnish jazz field today with his unmatched creativity and versatility. He presented his new quartet, composed of three established and accalimed younger-generation jazzers, in 2012 and the group released an album, Hati Hati, earlier this year.

The by now traditional Christmas concert tour of UMO will this year be headlining leading Finnish artist Anna Puu. The Christmas tour will span two weeks in November and December, with concerts at Temppeliaukio Church in Helsinki and further afield in Vantaa, Porvoo, Hämeenlinna, Jyväskylä, Pori and Kotka.

The repertoire will feature some of the traditional and most beloved Christmas songs and also a few of Anna Puu’s own Christmas favourites will be heard. The arrangements have been written with church acoustics and atmosphere in mind.
UMO is conducted by Kirmo Lintinen.
