On Friday, April 1, a rare treat will be heard at Logomo, when the Ålandian pianist virtuoso Vladimir “Vova” Shafranov and jazz professor Jukkis Uotila will perform together for the first time in years.
The masters will take the stage at the invitation of Jussi Fredriksson, the artistic director of Jazz City Turku, and Shafranov and Uotila will also perform together at the Åland Sea Jazz event in Mariehamn in August. In Turku, the band is complemented by Johnny Åman, a younger bassist who is one of Sweden's sought-after jazz musicians.
