Jazz Finland Live

Riitta Paakki Quartet explores the swinging 1960s Blue Note sound at April Jazz Club. Members of the quartet are some of the brightest stars in Finnish jazz scene: saxophonist Manuel Dunkel, drummer Joonas Riippa and bassist Antti Lötjönen – not to mention the pianist Riitta Paakki who was awarded with a prestigious Yrjö-award in 2019 for her meritorious work. In 2016 Paakki got her doctoral degree in jazz piano as the first pianist in Sibelius Academy. Her research in 1960s Blue Note aesthetics are surely audible in Riitta Paakki Quartets sophisticated harmonies and effortless groove.
