Jazz Finland Live

Koko Jazz Club has an honour to be part of traditional Helsinki City happening Alppipuisto Summer 2018. The series of concerts starts with our day 6.7.2018. Koko Jazz Club delivers for a whole family starting with Moominjazz at 15.00. For a whole day in Alppipuisto we introduce the most finest finnish jazz from different categories. We are particularly pleased to serve a rare collaborative concert by PLOP and Junnu Aaltonen. Pianist Lenni- Kalle Taipale will do it like dynamo with his selection of most beautiful finnish songs. Our great Diva Nina Mya has arranged a special selection of the Burt Bacharachs compositions. For this special event she performs with her fine quintet. The night ends with amazing saxophonist Joonatan Rautio and his quintet tributing late great Michael Brecker. Welcome!

In the beginning of July friends of blues and jazz are treated in Valkeakoski as Kirjazz & Blues mini festival takes place at Kirjaslampi Dance Pavilion. This year the event celebrates strong female voices that vivify the beautiful Kirjaslampi surroundings.

Blues day 6.7.

BigFeet & LaLa is a new rock group with radiant blues singer Marjo Leinonen (Balls, Huff'n'Puff) together with legendary guitarist Jukka Orman (Sielun Veljet). Big Feet & LaLa’s music is hypnotic and volatile blues ’n’ pop.

SaraLee Band is rhythm & bluesin and rock & rollin with a voodoo swing. Blazing riffs, meandering solos and dancing back beat.

Jazz day 7.7.

HERD & Aili Ikonen lead the listeners to the golden era of jazz. The ensemble performs updated arrangements of classics made famous by Laila Kinnunen, but with respect. Their applauded repertoire features our most beloved evergreen melodies such as Pojat, Valoa ikkunassa and Suklaasydän.

 Henrika & Swing Jukebox orchestra together with Henrika Nieminen from Minä ja Nieminen band offer a collection of present day’s pop hits arranged with swinging rhythms.

 Swinging jazz menu is served by local café Lounaskahvila Nikmik, and art by Valkeakosken Kuvataiteilijat ry.

In cooperation with Valkeakosken Sanomat and D-kulma.
