Vocalist Emma Salokoski and Ilmiliekki Quartet, one of the international success stories in Finnish jazz, joined forces in 2009 for the album "Vi såldre vara hemman". The record was a success and the combo's live shows since have become rare events every music lover should mark on their calendar with big capital letters. Salokoski and Ilmiliekki are now working on new material based on Swedish language Finnish poetry, and now they are ready to showcase the new music live.

You’re warmly welcome to follow UMO’s rehearsal on UMO Open Day 12th October! We will open the doors of our rehearsal hall at Cable Factory (Kaapelitehdas) as we are training for our upcoming Agatha-concerts with composer, pianist Kerkko Koskinen. In addition to him, you’ll also meet our 16 musicians, as well as our chief conductor Mikko Hassinen.

Please note the high volume in the rehearsal hall. Using earplugs is highly recommended.

The Open Day is a campaign collaborated between the Association for Finnish Work, its members and collaborative organisations. Made by Finland campaign celebrates the grand anniversary of Finnish independence, taking pride in the diversity of Finnish work, and communicates about work that builds Finnish well-being. The Made by Finland campaign invites all Finns to present their own work and discuss it.
