” the most magical thing about Paradisi is your being able to believe
completely in what she’s singing; you get the feeling she was there, that

New, cross-over concert series Hietsu is Happening! returns from its summer break on 21 September.

The first edition of the autumn season sees two bands hit the stage, offering a medley of jazz, contemporary and baroque music.

The first half of the evening is dedicated to the accordion. Accordionist Mikko Luoma will be treating us to his art both solo and with fellow accordionist Veli Kujala, pianist Emil Holmström and guitarist Petri Kumela. After this, pianist Holmström will be joined by violinist Eriikka Maalismaa.

The cherry on the cake will come in the form of Gourmet. Started by saxophonist Mikko Innanen and guitarist Esa Onttonen 19 years ago, Gourmet now returns from a long break, giving us a sample of their brand new material.

Hietsu is Happening! is curated by bassist Antti Lötjönen, saxophonist Mikko Innanen and guitarist Petri Kumela, and it aims at bringing together exceptional artists without paying much attention to genre categories. Come to witness something previously unseen and unheard at Hietsu's cosy, historical milieu!
