Finnish post-rock band Oddarrang, known for their unique blend of atmospheric music, will release their sixth and final album in April 2024. Heralded as their magnum opus, the album combines elements from their previous works into a compelling masterpiece that reflects their artistic growth over the years. Oddarrang's music evokes cinematic emotions and promises a transformative musical experience for the listener.

Roy Hargrove (1969-2018) was a trumpeter who succeeded not only with his soulful and versatile playing and compositions but also by fluidly operating across different genres: jazz, hip-hop, and soul coexist harmoniously in his music. He collaborated with the likes of Erykah Badu, Herbie Hancock, Common, D'Angelo, Dianne Reeves, and Joe Henderson. Hargrove passed away from a heart attack in 2018 at the age of 49, but he left behind a wealth of great music and fans worldwide.

Trumpeter Mikko "Gunu" Karjalainen honors Hargrove's legacy by performing his music with his stunning jazz quintet. The 2023 artist of the Turku Jazz Festival's lyrical interpretations of Hargrove's extensive oeuvre, along with top musicians, breathe new life into this music.

When Pikku Papun Orkesteri gets together with the UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra, you get a biiiig children’s concert for the whole family in Nurmijärvi on Saturday 18th May!

Pikku Papu’s immensely popular hits are now performed for the first time in arrangements for a big ensemble with over 20 members! The arrangements are made by Mikko Hassinen, familiar for instance from Värttinä. Hassinen also conducts the concert.

During the concert, even the little ones can join in the songs and fun. Screams of joy and dancing are allowed – even desirable!

Note! Especially with the smallest concertgoers, we recommend preparing for loud volumes with earmuffs or plugs.
