Pianist Joonas Haavisto has been busy in recent years. In addition to touring Japan, he has composed music for the big screen, for instance. This show will be the first in a while for Haavisto and his trio in Helsinki, and its tracklist will consist of music from their latest album, the 2016 Oku. The leader's organic, meditative sonic fabrics are splendidly supported by Antti Lötjönen and Joonas Riippa's able rhythm section.

The Filthy Six tours Finland with an English/Finnish line up!

The Filthy Six played with this formation in Finland in Oct 2015 and now return for four shows at the end of January, with concerts in Espoo, Tampere and Ylläs.

The Filthy Six is the brainchild of trumpet player-composer Nick Etwell, the touring trumpet player for Nathaniel Ratliff and the Grammy-winning British group Mumford and Sons. He leads his own group the Filthy Six who spread the soul-jazz gospel around the world in three different formations.  The Finnish concerts will be with Frank Walden on sax (Tom Jones / Amy Winehouse) and James Fenn on guitar, with Finns Kari Paavola, Heikki Laine and Sami Nieminen as the rhythm section.

The Filthy Six has released three albums on the legendary London label Acid Jazz with their newest last April 2016.

This is a must-see group for all soul-jazz and funk-jazz enthusiasts!
