Fresh and natural expression coupled with an unerring sense of swing raise Johanna Iivanainen above other Finnish jazz singers in many people’s opinion.
At TTT-klubi, Johanna with her spouse Mikko will play accessible songs whose mild and intimate atmosphere is best conveyed live. The programme will consist of her own material and songs created in collaboration with poet Sinikka Svärd.
Johanna Iivanainen was given Louis Armstrong Prize in 2002 and the first Sony Jazz Prize the following year. In the sphere of jazz, she has collaborated with, among others, Eero Koivistoinen, Antti Sarpila Swing Band, Jukka Perko, Otto Donner's Free for All, JimJamMurMur and Korpi Ensemble. Guitarist Mikko Iivanainen has played with such groups as Free Control, Loco Motife and Nordic Trinity with Juhani Aaltonen, Klaus Suonsaari, Iro Haarla and Ulf Krokfors.
