Jazz Finland Live

Odysseus Festival is an event for adventurous music including jazz, folk, experimental music, regional musics, plus more. The two-day event features more than 30 acts. The Friday program includes AINON, Olli Ahvenlahti New Quintet, Superposition, Verneri Pohjola, Dan Nicholls, Y-OTIS, plus more.

The Aleksi Heinola Quartet, led by drummer Aleksi Heinola, features saxophonist Manuel Dunkel, pianist Mikael Jakobsson and bassist Nathan Francis.

The Aleksi Heinola Quartet consists of some of the finest players on the Finnish jazz scene. The sound of the group is rich and energetic, yet elegant, packed with lots of swingin’ groove and fine interplay based in the firm roots of the timeless & hip 60’s Hard Bop tradition with a modern twist. The group will perform a selection of their favorite Jazz Standards & Originals. The flexibility and knowledge of the musicians allows the quartet to have a wide repertoire of music at hand, which gives the group a sense of freedom and spontaneity to make every concert a unique experience for both the musicians and the audience.
