Jazz Finland Live

Force of Nature is an energetic jazz ensemble composed of five young musicians, with a name that reflects their powerful and elemental musical expression.

The group's music draws inspiration from various sources, particularly the second quintet of Miles Davis, the late 1970s V.S.O.P quintet, and the straight-ahead jazz trends of the 1980s. These influences are evident in their performance, characterized by spontaneous risk-taking and communication, explosive energy, and a solid understanding of jazz tradition.

The quintet features Joonatan Henriksson, the clarinetist who won the first-ever Taimi Award from the Finnish Jazz Federation in 2023 for exceptionally talented and ambitious young musicians. Also in the band are vibraphonist Olli Virtanen, who released his debut album in October 2023; young piano virtuoso Pyry Brandt; Otso Huhtala, who has risen to the ranks of top Finnish bassists; and Severi Sorjonen, the drummer known for his work with the internationally recognized Maja Mannila Trio.
