Iiro Rantala, pianist, composer and probably Finland’s best known jazz musician internationally has a new band Flock, which is his first group with Finnish musicians in a decade. Rantala’s steady experience and endless creativity is met with fresh millenial vision and young talent, as he is joined by singer-pianist-composer Maja Mannila, guitarist-composer Johannes Granroth and drummer Severi Sorjonen, all known from the trending new groups Peela and Maja Mannila band.

Tjango!'s musical roots lie in Jazz Manouche and Latin American rhythm music. Their greatest inspirations are Jazz Manoucheguitar master Django Reinhardt and Astor Piazzolla's tango nuevo, a combination that produced the group's name. Renowned for their charismatic live performances, the band also draws on Nordic folk, bluegrass and bossa nova. The band members are all highly respected as instrumentalists and professionals in the fields of jazz, art music and folk music.

Singer Eeppi Ursin is used to big arenas in the ranks of the group Club For Five. She has taken her own career forward last year in New York.
Ursin will present her program at Raatihuone in November. Eeppi and her band, who perform intimate stories and experienced songs, are one of the most interesting guests of the autumn at the Raatihuone jazz nights!

Trumpeter Mikko Pettinen is known from the ranks of the prestigious UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra and the renegade Helsinki-Cotonou Ensemble. Pettinen approaches the modern-day questions with his new electronic Why Not quartet. The Tampere-based Eclipse Music label released the ensemble's debut album Two Suites For The Change in January 2020. Pettinen's compositions on the double vinyl reflect the hopes and fears of climate change and the future of AI.
