Loud Silents Festival is dedicated to silent films and live music. The festival takes place in Tampere, Finland annually in April. Loud Silents invites a bunch of musicians to compose brand new soundtracks for silent films. After its launch in 2013, Loud Silents has presented 29 unique combinations of moving image and live music, such as 1920’s animated shorts with experimental rap, Ice Hockey world championship final with jazz, and German expressionist films with indie pop. 

Agent triller Korkein voitto (1929, directed by Carl von Haartman) is one of the greatest achievements of Finnish silent film. The film is accompanied by west coast jazz inspired Bowman Trio from Helsinki.

Aelita (1924) is a scifi-film pioneer, which influence is seen in many contemporary scifi-films. In Loud Silents the film is accompanied by Virta band´s post jazz that is spiced with rock and electronic music.
