On the national holiday of Finnish music, Sointi Jazz Orchestra returns to Helsinki's Savoy Theatre! Fronted by four singers, the 18-piece orchestra performs a selection of best-loved Finnish Christmas music, including a new version of the traditional Star Boys' Singing Procession. 

Soini and Partanen’s version stretches the classic Christmas play from its original 15-minute duration to a 50-minute concert, but the story, the events and the lyrics remain untouched. The range of atmospheres varies from upbeat swing to brooding solemnity and everything in between, and preludes, interludes and improvised solos add drama and coherence to the new version. After an interval we will be in for favourite Christmas carols in brand new big band arrangements. 

Since 2013 Sointi Jazz Orchestra has produced novel and exciting concerts, offering first-class music experiences to the audience. The concert makes an excellent kick start to the Christmas season for the whole family.
