Jazz Finland Live

Organised for the first time, the one-day festival Megakupla presents the freshest players of the Finnish jazz scene! Six acts, four hours of music. What will happen when two bands take the stage at the same time for 45 minutes? 

"The idea is to create an avalanche of music, an uninterrupted flow that carries through the night with each band merging into a continuum that highlights rather than smooths away their original characteristics," describes Mikko Sarvanne of Mikko Sarvanne Hip Company and Beibi P.

Other acts include the tender bossa group Nossa Bossa; Finland's finest organ trio, Buba Wii Aa; saxophonist Pauli Lyytinen whose newest album Machinery came out a few months ago; vocal group Signe who interpret the poems of Sappho; and the virtuoso guitarist Raoul Björkenheim. Who will meet whom on the stage? Prepare yourself for a night of surprises and exhilaration. 

The cherry on the cake will be a special performance entitled Tapetit kaatuu päälle (The Tapestry is Falling on Me), featuring a jazz trio and three dancers.
